Who We Are
For over 25 years, Inter-Faith Housing Alliance has partnered with local congregations, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors to create positive outcomes for Montgomery County families experiencing the harsh and complex realities of poverty and homelessness. The services we offer, which include emergency and transitional shelter, emergency food relief, intensive case management, and supportive services, help families to preserve their dignity and work towards self-sufficiency.
Inter-Faith Housing Alliance provides families with an opportunity to heal from the traumas of poverty and homelessness while also advancing their ability to obtain and maintain stable housing. Families living in poverty are under constant distress. Hunger, scarcity, and housing insecurity caused by poverty often leads to chronic trauma. Under these conditions, families are ill-equipped to gain access to stabilizing services that could lead to self-sufficiency. By stabilizing a family's housing situation and providing critical services that support movement towards self-sufficiency. Inter-Faith works to mitigate the effects of homelessness on the children and families we serve.
zonesInter-Faith Housing Alliance was recently recognized as a Zone of Peace by the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia for our efforts to address root causes of violence: poverty, homelessness, hunger, and family instability.
